Prayer Letter
October 23, 2007 Pastors, Churches, and Friends, WE ARE GRANDPARENTS!! LOGAN CUMMINS RICKARD BORN (Early) 10-17 4 lbs 4 oz. At the time of this letter he is still in NICU doing well just needing to eat a lot and grow a little, then he can go home. I hope that this letter finds everyone well. We are all fairing well here in the Bell household. Since our last letter much has happened. We traveled to Canada and visited a supporting church there that had never had a missionary to come by. They received us very well and were a great blessing to us while there. While there we had an opportunity to visit an established mission church that is now supporting missions, as well as, a new work being started out of that church in a neighboring town. To see mission work first hand gave us a greater desire to get to the field that God has called us to. From there we traveled to Kansas and were in a mission’s conference and presented our burden for Scotland in three other churches. Three of these churches were direct results of missionaries going, praying, and planting, in these United States of America. During this trip, one church gave us an offering around $3,000 that allowed us to be able to pay off a bill that was holding us back. Another church bought tires for our cargo trailer. I want to thank God again for using these churches to provide our needs along the way. Hallelujah! Thank you Pastors, Jr. Messick, Don Jackson, Chris Matthews, Plato Shepherd, & John Day for allowing us the opportunity to preach and/or present our ministry with you and your people. Another thing that I was impressed with on this trip to Canada and through our Western States, was the number of towns without a fundamental gospel witness. Town after town throughout North America that does not have anyone preaching the truth in them. It saddened my heart to realize the number of lost souls without a preacher to thunder forth the good news of the gospel. Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Mat 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. The end of September and the first of October the “Bell Boys” went to two mission’s conferences in Virginia. The “Bell Ladies” stayed behind to attend the baby shower for our daughter Elizabeth. While in Virginia we obtained another supporting church, the Faith Baptist Church in Waverly, Pastor Lewis Lawson. I also had the privilege of preaching in a mission church, out of the Grace Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA, and to preach chapel services for the Grace Baptist School. We thank Pastor R. L. Nunnelly for allowing us to minister in this way. Please continue to pray for us. We are scheduled to go to Oklahoma in November. We will be going full time with our deputation in December. May God Richly Bless You All, Bro. Douglas E. Bell |
