Prayer Letter

November-December 2009

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

With Thanksgiving behind us, I am reminded once again of the many blessings that God has bestowed upon me. Day by day, I see His hand of mercy and grace, providing for me and my family. For these things I am thankful.

Since my last letter, we have been in North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. These meetings have been profitable both spiritually and financially. While in missions meetings, I find that I am still encouraged and instructed about world evangelism. We can clearly see that the return of Christ is close at hand. How much more should we be busy about getting the gospel message to our family, neighbors, towns, counties, states, and yea the world!

We told you in the Sep.-Oct. letter that we would probably be getting a supporting church in Monterrey, Mexico, and that the Cottonwood Valley Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Kansas voted to support us. Since then, we have added the El-Bethel Baptist Church in Roanoke, AL, and the Morning Star Baptist Church in Cleveland, NC. Praise God!

During these weeks on the road, God also blessed us with and $1,100.00 love offering that was greatly needed by us. Once again God proved His Word, Mat 6:6  But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.  I want to thank God and the church He used for this “handful of purpose”.

We seem to still be around the 40% mark in our support level due to many churches having to cut back because of the economic times we live in. Though we have gained support, we have also had some churches cut the amount of support and some to put us on “hold” until their mission’s budgets will allow them to send again.

We are scheduled to be in Tennessee and North Carolina in January. Please pray for us concerning “winter driving”. Also, please remember my wife Lisa in your prayers. She will be going for tests on December 3rd, and depending on the results, may have to have surgery in the near future. Please pray for her in this matter. Pray also that we will be able to fill our calendar for 2010, and that many new churches, will become supporting churches.

I would also like to thank all the churches that sent an extra Christmas gift to our family. It is appreciated very much!

In closing, we would like to wish each and every one, a very merry Christmas, and a happy and prosperous New Year! May God’s blessings rest on each one this holiday season.

Pressing Toward the Mark,

Bro. Douglas Bell
