Prayer LetterMay-June 2009 Dear Pastors and Praying Friends, Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. I would just like to declare that God is still faithful to this man and his family. Praise His Name! We had to do some repairs to our Suburban (rear heater core) and God was faithful to provide the money for the repair two days before it went into the shop! We were in a Saturday night youth meeting at the Seven Springs Baptist Church, near Francis, KY, and the pastor asked me and my wife along with another missionary and his wife to give testimony and share a need that we had. I shared that I had to have the truck repaired and through their offering it was more than enough to pay the bill! April found us in meetings in Virginia and Tennessee, and Kentucky, while May was slow due to a ladies meeting in our home church, graduations and my grandmother’s illness. June will take us to Michigan and hopefully to other northern states. My maternal grandmother, who turned 95 years old in April, is in a nursing home and is not fairing very well. It looks as if it is nearing the end of life here on this earth, but praise God she is ready to step into that eternal life she found in Christ many, many years ago. We went to visit her and to help out my mother, (who is an only child, and is keeping vigil daily at the nursing home) a few days this month and will probably be going back before we head to Michigan. Nana as I call my grandmother was the most influential person in my becoming a Christian. It was through her example, discipline, and prayers that kept me from getting into many things that I could have messed up my young life with. When the time comes I will probably have a part in her funeral services, which I know will be a celebration of a life that served and honored God. We do ask for prayers for my family as the parting will be sad as well, because she has meant so much too so many in her lifetime. Please continue to pray for open doors and support for my family to be able to get to Scotland and reach souls for Christ as it seems the day of His appearing is at hand. I have seen a documentary discussing the demographics of western Europe and the influx of Muslim people there. It is urgent that we get the gospel to those that may be looking for the light and truth, in this world of darkness and lies. Pressing Toward the Mark, Bro. Douglas Bell P.S. Thank you for your prayers and continued support!
